STATEMENT In the past 3 years, my work
has grown and changed. I have pursued ENCAUSTICS more and find the medium to be extremely freeing. I've
also been painting more, with less focus on the female figure and more on abstract compositions. The desire to elicit an emotional
response rather than rendering an object has become much more interesting to me as an artist. I continue to push the envelope
in terms of getting out of my own way and allowing the process to just happen rather than forcing a final outcome. I find
I am much more relaxed with my work these days which is a tremendous relief and quite exhilarating. Florals, yet somewhat
abstract have become one of my favorite things to paint. INSPIRATION??? That of course, still..... is the "real work" for me in roaming wide open spaces and having
the freedom to be the observer.
